Getting into portraits again

Here is a progression of the latest portrait I completed. Unlike most of my portraits , this was done in acrylics. Working on it has given me a nice boost and a desire to paint more portraits. It is strange to me how i seem to forget how happy painting them makes me , until i paint another one and i am in heaven.

James Marlowe of Marlowe Ink.
While i was working on it , my mom came over and was startled by him(she is a jumpy one, that mom of mine haha!)I assured her he is a stand up guy. He has a real talent for making me smile and laugh. Plus he has done some of my most complimented tattoos on me.
You can visit James at Marlowe Ink in Fairfax Va

Hi Jeanette, I am James's Mom. I work in Germany and I am really enjoying looking at your photographs and portrait of James. It is wonderful. I just wanted to thank you. There's a lot of James's Dad in your portrait, as well as I can see myself too. You really captured his spirit. The photo of him holding the portrait is really priceless too. Thanks again. I hope to see more of your work. Have a great day. Jean (Marlowe)Santa Maria

What a serious honor you have given me by leaving such a lovely comment. I just love James to death. Your son literally makes me laugh myself into a headache every time i see the guy. He was easy to work with and such a great model! I am so glad that you see so much more than I would have been aware of. I loved to read it. I'm so happy it is mother approved :-)
That means a lot to me. Thanks again, Jean!
